Beyond the limits of the possible

 /

“The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.” - Arthur C. Clarke

There's a lot of talk about a growth mindset these days. But I still hear so many people say “I could NEVER do X”.

We need a greater understanding of just how real and incredibly powerful neuroplasticity is.

I thought I would be overweight forever but at 37 I lost 12kg by learning about and applying fundamental nutrition science.

I thought I would never be fit but at 38 I started running and even did a half marathon.

I thought I would only ever be a soccer spectator but at 39 I joined a group of 5-a-side players and slowly got fitter and more skilled to the point where I’m reasonably good.

I thought I would never own a shop of my own but at 40 we opened the doors of our own little bricks and mortar gaming store.

Now I’m 41 and who knows what lies ahead? I don’t know exactly what, but I do know almost anything is still an option.

Ready to take on your future? Remember it’s not written yet! I can’t think of more appropriate words to end with than this quote by famous science fiction author Arthur C. Clarke:

“The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.”
