This week I caught up with an old acquaintance who heads up a stockbroking firm. He asked me what I would consider my biggest weakness.

It’s a good question because the older I get the more aware I’ve become of my flaws. How to pick just one...

I told him that I’m overly competitive and prone to aggression. The one mitigating factor is that at 40 I’ve had some time to work on it.

The last few years I’ve tried to move the goalposts so that me “scoring” is good for others too.

More and more I’m competing aggressively but competing for win-wins. It allows me to be my true competitive self but in a more constructive way.

This week I took some inspiration from a podcast interview with Shep Gordon:

“I want to be a part of something where I can be a human being, do my job, win and have everybody else win.”

Shep is the legendary Hollywood kingmaker who put Alice Cooper on the map and almost singlehandedly invented the celebrity chef industry.

Here’s the link. It’s a great listen! https://lnkd.in/dXV92im
