The way people treat each other has become more and more important to me over time and I’ve recently thought a lot about the difference between being aggressive and constructive.
The way people treat each other has become more and more important to me over time and I’ve recently thought a lot about the difference between being aggressive and constructive.
I’m especially aware of how people behave when they’re under pressure, something has gone wrong or there is disagreement about the way forward.
We’ve all been part of enough finger pointing exercises to know what I’m talking about. It kind of reminds me of this quote:
“To err is human. Finding someone to blame it on shows management potential" - Unknown
As managers and leaders we have the responsibility and the opportunity to set the tone though. Tough times are actually the best times to build a constructive culture within your team, business unit or organization.
I’ll end with another great bit of wisdom from an unknown source:
