Do you spend your work days hunting mice?

 /

Lions are fully capable of capturing, killing, and eating field mice. So why don’t they? The answer to this question could change your life.

It’s all about the calories. Don’t worry, this isn’t a post about healthy eating. We are talking about energy and focus.

It turns out the energy required to hunt down and gobble up a field mouse far exceeds the caloric content of the small rodent itself.

Lions need at least 8,000 calories per day. If you were wondering... a mouse has a minuscule 30 calories. You can do the math.

What about a Lion King diet of grubs? Scientists estimate Simba would have to eat six grubs per minute in order to survive. Without ever sleeping. Not really a problem free philosophy.

So even if Simba spent its entire day
hunting and eating tiny prey, he would slowly starve to death. A lion simply can't live on a diet of field mice or grubs. What then should the king of the jungle eat?

Antelope! Antelope are big animals. They take more speed and strength to capture and kill. But once killed they provide a feast for the lion and her pride.

I promised you a life changing insight, so here it comes. When you close your laptop at the end of a long workday, ask yourself: “Did I spend today chasing mice or hunting antelope?“
