Don’t be a slave to the date on your calendar
/
You are not Cinderella, so you don't have to be a magical slave to a clock that strikes midnight or the date on your calendar.
It’s not the end of the world if there are some important things that you haven’t completed by midnight on 31 December 2019.
It’s the end of a year not the end of your life! Lots of worthwhile things take time and will never be achieved within the boundaries of a single calendar year.
“Most people overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in ten years.” ― Bill Gates
You also don’t have to wait until 1 January 2020 to start something new or make an important change.
I made good progress this year in my personal battle with social media addiction, but I started in December 2018 already by deleting the Facebook app from my phone.
How you end one thing often influences how you start the next. So if you want to develop healthier habits in 2020 why not start in November or in December while you have a little bit of extra free time to think, plan and experiment?
I started daily meditation a few weeks ago and it’s been going really well. Imagine what I would have missed out on if I waited for the date on my calendar to give me permission to give it a try!
