Planes are made for flying, what about you?

The winds of life can be a clue to understanding yourself better.

Could an old 747 try to take to the skies all by itself one last time? Even without engines? Yes it can! Turns out all you need is extreme winds of 120 km per hour.

If you want to see what that looks like check out this incredible video of an old Boeing that had been sitting in a boneyard in Mojave, California.

There are many things that wouldn’t come close to taking off even with the help of wind. The lesson? Planes really are made for flying!

The winds of life can be a clue to understanding yourself better. Think about the kind of situations that get you moving. For me it’s when I see a team that lacks direction, another leader that needs mentorship or an opportunity to innovate and bring reform.

The conditions under which you find it hard not to move will be different from mine and from other people. The question is, does your work climate or environment highlight your strengths? Or does it highlight your weaknesses?

Your company culture, your current role, your team dynamic and your organization’s strategy can make it easier or harder for you to lift off. It’s important to understand this.

When you are usually diligent and you start feeling demotivated it’s not always because you’ve become lazy overnight. Sometimes it’s because the wind has died down.
