The Biggest Room In Any House

I had such a good town hall with all the teams in my division yesterday. We’ve come a long way this year.
I had such a good town hall with all the teams in my division yesterday. We’ve come a long way this year.
I’m also very proud of my team leaders Dylan van Deventer, Preston Trollip and Randall Blommetjies. They work so hard and carry a ton of responsibility.
We took some time to celebrate our wins, then I reminded the group that the biggest room in any house is always the room for improvement.
Looking at areas we wanted to improve in, it struck me how many of them could be classified as either basics done well or small refinements.
Made me think of this Charlie Munger quote:
“It is remarkable how much long-term advantage people like us have gotten by trying to be consistently not stupid, instead of trying to be very intelligent.”
Here’s to my group of engineers and all the IT professionals out there who keep our technological lights on by making the basics beautiful!
(Also want to thank people from other Iress teams who have invested in us: Ryan, Donald, Jie, Kevin and Martin)
