The most useful form of patience is persistence

A good friend read an article that claimed patience is one of the top 10 things that WON’T make you happy.

So this week we’ve been debating the merits of patience in the context of work and career.
He said that maybe the key is to put things in motion and then be patient. I like this because it means patience and action are not mutually exclusive.
We ended with something like “patience does not equal passivity but procrastination does”.
Of course you think you’re very clever until James Clear goes and articulates it even better:
“The most useful form of patience is persistence.
Patience implies waiting for things to improve on their own.
Persistence implies keeping your head down and continuing to work when things take longer than you expect.”
