Travel back in time using Eskom and these 6 easy steps
/
Imagine waking up in the middle of the night because someone just switched on all the lights in your house. Now imagine realizing that someone was you. This happened to me two weeks ago.
Could I have switched the lights on while sleepwalking? Maybe. Although to the best of my knowledge I hadn’t taken a slumbering stroll since childhood.
What actually happened was much stranger. Turns out I went back in time and did it before going to bed! I have a healthy growth mindset, but I never dreamed I would learn how to time travel.
Marty McFly had a Delorean. All I needed was an Eskom. If you have an Eskom near you, then you can try this at home following these simple steps:
1. Wait for the sun to disappear. At my house this usually happens in the evenings but check your local patterns.
2. Double check that your house is now in fact dark. If you’re not sure, try reading a book with very small print. If you’re struggling, odds are you’re good to go.
3. This step is crucial. Carefully switch on every single light in your house. Don’t forget your bedroom.
4. Wait for Eskom to do a 4.5 hour load shedding that will end after any reasonable person would have gone to sleep.
5. Go to sleep.
6. Now wake yourself up with the lights you switched on in the past!
