Two books about courage that changed my life

 /

What image does the word COURAGE conjure in your mind? Do you picture a knight in shining armor? Or a member of the fire brigade running into a burning building?

Courage is too rich and deep a word to define so narrowly. That’s why two of my favorite books are ones that explore what it means to be courageous in unique ways.

The Courage to Do The Work

The ideas in this book pushed me over the edge of my imagination and into the real world. I had made a habit of living my dreams in my mind. This book changed my life. I highly recommend it.

"A child has no trouble believing the unbelievable, nor does the genius or the madman. It’s only you and I, with our big brains and our tiny hearts, who doubt and overthink and hesitate."
― Steven Pressfield

The Courage to be Disliked

If all I got from this book was an understanding of the difference between horizontal and vertical relationships it would have been worth it.

But I got so much more. Too much to put in one post. Suffice to say it went straight onto the list of books that transformed my thinking.

“The courage to be happy also includes the courage to be disliked. When you have gained that courage, your interpersonal relationships will all at once change into things of lightness.”
― Ichiro Kishimi
